Inserting Instructions

I like to use a combination of multiple-choice questions and open-ended questions on my tests. I group the questions so all the multiple-choice questions come first, and all the open-ended questions come at the end of the test.

I would like to insert some instructions between the multiple choice questions and the open-ended questions. I've looked around the menus of TestGen 7.4, which is what I have installed on my Windows machine, but I can't seem to find any way to insert a paragraph of instructions.

Would someone clue me in?

Thanks in advance.

TestGen Forums:

There are a couple of ways to do this...

OPTION 1: Modify Question Type Headings

(1) Open your test in the right edit pane.

(2) Go to the "Tool > Preferences > Test Options" on the menu bar.

(3) On the first tab (Questions), make sure "Display question type headers" is selected. Click "OK" to close and save.

(4) You should see some headers above your questions. They might say something like "MULTIPLE CHOICE. Choose the one alternative...". Double-click one of the titles.

(5) The "Edit Question Type Headings" editor will appear. Modify the headings as desired. Click "OK" to save your changes.

OPTION 2: Add a Note Above Question Group

(1) Open your test in the right edit pane.

(2) Go to the left pane (Library) and click on the "Resource Library" tab. (Note: if your library is not showing click the little book button in the toolbar or choose "View > Show" Library in the menu.)

(3) Click the triangle next to "Other Templates" to roll it open.

(4) Click and drag "Blank Note" to your test. (Note: a note can only go right above a question. It will stick to the question it was attached to.)

(5) A note will appear above your question reading "Blank note" Click on it to edit.

Hope one of those options helps you out. Let me know if you need more help.
