File error message
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Thu, 07/21/2011 - 13:31
"The file is not a proper test file. Please specify a different file" or " Error closing oputput file" error messages. Some test files won't open in TestGen 7.4. File extensions are the same as others but some open and some don't.

just came across this issue.
just came across this issue. was able to open the file when copied from a flash drive to the desktop. could have been cause the flash drive was from a mac computer, or because it only had 400k free of space on it. exact cause unsure, but issue was resolved by copying it to the host machine

I swear, I'm going to lose it
I swear, I'm going to lose it someday over this stuff!
I just wrote most of a final exam.
I'm back to try to finish it - and I get the error message that it is not a proper test file.
I copied it to the desktop. It didn't work.
I tried to open it from inside the application and directly and neither worked.
I can't tell you how many times this kind of stuff happens. Sometimes it is a test bank that I spend many days editing, and other times it's a test.

Hello Theresa,
Hello Theresa,
If you will contact us through our support link regarding this issue, I can take a look at your exam to determine the issue.
Curious, do you by chance also have ExamView installed on the same machine you are using TestGen?
