I have had no problem using Testgen to generate web-based quizzes that can be directly imported into Blackboard, but how do I generate a quiz into a file format that can be directly imported into Desire2Learn?

TestGen does not currently
TestGen does not currently have a direct export of tests to D2L format, but we have added this option to the *wish list* for TestGen 8.0. One workaround that some people are using is to export a TestGen test to QTI format, then use Respondus to convert the QTI export into a D2L package. If you have access to Respondus, you might want to give it a try. C.S.

Hi Chris -- Other than the Respondus workaround, there is currently no way to export to D2L from TestGen.

You can upload the
You can upload the blackboard zip file directly into D2L. Once you download the blackboard zip file from the instructor resource center enter your course Go to Edit course and choose the import/export . you can browse to the file and select question library and all the question are there. Then just pick and choose questions you want on the quiz .
If you create your own quiz in Test gen then cllick on file choose export and choose to blackboard 6.0-7.0. Once you have a blackboard zip file that can be uploaded to D2L.

Be nice if it worked, I am using Respondus 4, and have had no luck.
Frankly, I am telling instructors to avoid texts with TestGen like the plague

How do you do this? The QTI format Testgen exports has a separate xml file for each question. Respondus seems to want a single file for all the questions.

I think the Blackboard 6
I think the Blackboard 6 export might work. I don't have direct experience with this; however, I did find specific instructions on Pearson's site. I've included the url and the steps they mentioned for your convenience. Could you give it a try and report back your findings?
